Water SCARCITY & CONSERVATION

As our global population grows, our need for water grows, too.

SOIL AND WATER CONFLICT

As you can see in the map below, an estimated 1.4 billion people live in river basins that can no longer provide enough water for the area’s residents.

In these areas, farmers are digging wells 50 meters deeper, yet their access to water has declined by two-thirds.

Additionally, many of our waterways have been polluted by the overuse of crop inputs like nitrogen, potassium and phosphate.

Since agriculture accounts for 70% of the global fresh water usage, we need to discover ways to limit our detrimental impact to this precious resource.

With your help, The Earth Restoration Foundation will apply our research efforts to generate methods and technologies in agriculture that will conserve water and limit the overuse of agricultural inputs.
